Hi, thanks for this explanation.
Just to help the community: We found links between DBpedia and Geonames in
the NY Times RDF dataset.
For some reason they have prepared these links.
Best regards,
Mariana

I just checked the DBpedia 3.8, 3.7, 3.6 links to geonames. [1][2][3] They
don't differ much. Neither contained Germany, France, Bulgaria, Italy,
Austria or United States. They all contained Australia, and the link to
geonames looks good:

http://dbpedia.org/resource/Australia ->
http://www.geonames.org/2077456/commonwealth-of-australia.html

I also looked for England, Scotland and Wales. They are there, but the links
look wrong:

http://dbpedia.org/resource/England ->
http://www.geonames.org/3333218/city-of-westminster.html

http://dbpedia.org/resource/Scotland ->
http://www.geonames.org/2643576/lothian.html

http://dbpedia.org/resource/Wales ->
http://www.geonames.org/2636718/strata-florida.html
(should be http://www.geonames.org/2634895/wales.html )

mappings exists, if it is a gap.
