Hello everybody!
I'm Sanmaya, pre-final year student of an integrated bachelor's and
master's program at the Computer Science and Engineering department of
IIT-BHU, Varanasi, India. I understand that I'm a bit late coming on here
(first time on GSoC) but I'd like to learn and contribute to the concept of
the Semantic Web.
The idea of "Pattern Discovery and Knowledge Base Completion", in
particular, piques my interest. I am currently working on semantic text
processing as part of my master's dissertation, so I have some basic
knowledge about OWL, RDF; and am using machine learning techniques to
identify themes and general sentiments of blogposts in my friend's start-up.
As suggested by the ideas page, I have gone through the mailing list and
checked out the Scala School <http://twitter.github.io/scala_school/> to
get basic idea of the language.
Could somebody point me in the right direction for gaining some more
insights before writing my proposal?!
Best regards,
--
