Time to offer up two more obscurities. First is the New Riders of The Purple
Sage set from a Dead show in almost everybody's top ten list: Rennaisance
Fairgrounds, Veneta, Or on 8/27/72. In addition to the music, it also has
plenty more wacky stage announcements from Kesey, Babbs and pals. An
excellent addendum to this classic Dead show. (I'm cc-ing this to Deadlists,
since this list is not included there.) Here's the information on it:

Since, trading 1CD in Deadland is difficult, I may as well get this other i
tem circulating at the same time. It's those mystery 1969 home recordings I
mentioned a few weeks ago. After talking to various knowledgable people, the
consensus is that it was possibly recorded at Hunter's San Raphael house
during the summer of 1969. This is far from high quality, but it is
interesting and has a great embryonic instrumental jam of Uncle John's Band
among the oddities.

Recorded summer1969 (?) on a portable recorder with cheap condenser mic
Geneology unknown
Personel: Garcia, Hunter, Pigpen, Lesh, Constanten, Dawson, Weir, Hart &
Kruetzman
Note: Each track's timing notation represents an uninterupted recording
sequence. While its obvious all nine "tracks" were recorded on the same
portable equipment in the same room, its unknown if it all occured on one day.

1. Friend Of The Devil (w/other lyrics and John Dawson singing lead)[4:45]
2. brief trumpet solo : Phil Lesh or Hunter? [0:50]
3. Dead Or Alive (Robert Hunter vocal, undocumented song) [1:09]
4. Train Song : (Robert Hunter vocal, undocumented song) [2:24]
5. No Eggs Today : (Robert Hunter vocal, undocumented song) [0:35]
6. Jam: (vaguely touching on Uncle John's Band riffs) [7:43]
7. Uncle Johns Band (Instrumental Improvisation) [8:56]
8. ...baby crying?... (1:58)
9. unidentified guitar [2:04] /end of tape

At the moment, I'm looking for the following recordings, but also open to
looking at lists of non-Dead:

Dead: 12/28/69
Dead: 11/15/69
Garcia: 1/23/73
Garcia: 2/16/74
Dead: 10/23/80 (just need drums>end of show on a CD to replace a defective
copy)
Dead: 10/31/80 (just need the last CD of the soundboard version)
Dead: 10/9/72

Will take three B&Ps (will wait til tommorrow to give digesters a chance,
since I'm one and often miss out because of it) at random and as many trades
as I can handle. Please send a list or link to to it if you'd enjoy trading.
If I get swamped and you do not receive a reply, please be patient. With the
help of those who get copies, these should be circulating everywhere within a
short time.
