The JErry filler is probably 5/5/82 Oregon State Prsion - although he did this song one more than one occaission on his accosutic tours with John Kahn (the bass player you mention.  This was a stand-up accousti bass - I saw the summer '82 tour in Chicago on 7/1/82).  As far as Deadbase shows, Brent never did that song with the Dead, but he did do a short tour during Jerry's illness in 1986 with a band called Go Ahead (which was Brent, Billy, Alex Ligertwood, Dave Margen & Jerry Cortez).  They did some covers, but the one show i have of them does not have this.  Brent also played with a band callede Silver in the mid seventies, where he may have played this.  Finally, and if I'm wrong, I'm sure someone here will correct me, but I think he played with Bobby before joining the Dead, maybe as a member of Kingfish, so perhaps there.

One last possibility:  Brent worked on a solo album in the early '80s which nver was released.  This may have been on there (i used to have the stlist for this, but lost it somewhere).  The sadder part of this story is that some of the tapes used to record the album were reportedly the SBD recordings that were made of the Warfield Radio City Music Hall run from September and October 1980.

Subject: a couple of fillers that have me clue less

This is not a tape/CD request, because I know to use the Resources for Traders site for that.

Hello. I recently purchased some tapes from a Flea Market and there is a filler on the 3rd tape that is "Run For The Roses" . It is only Jerry and I think a bass player and all it says is  "recorded at prison" and it seems that the next song would be "Ripple" by the way Jerry is tuning but it cuts off. The other filler is a Brent solo "Devil With A Blue Dress On"  Did he do this with the Dead?

Any information about these performances would be greatly appreciated

THANKS ALOT
