If you have a 1st printing Blue Rose 12/31/78 poster in excellent condition (you can see it here: http://ivermcleod.tripod.com/1970s/new70s/781231.html ) then it's worth several hundred dollars. But since you said it's on cardboard it sounds to me like you have one of the cheap boxing-style posters that are a dime a dozen on ebay. In fact there's one on ebay now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=895156149 There's usually one on ebay every week (if not more than one).
If that's what you have then I'm afraid it's not worth any more than you can convince somebody to pay for it. And that probably won't be much. If you're interested in poster resources check out the "poster links" link at http://gdposters1.tripod.com Especially check out the links at the bottom of the poster links page. I have reviewed your site, and found it to be extremely helpful as I was searching for a particular year in which the Grateful Dead performed. The year is 12/31-78. This matches a poster (in mint condition) in which I have and would like to have appraised. The poster is on card board it reads: "NEWS YEARS EVE- GRATEFUL DEAD BLUES BROTHERS N.R.P.S. "BREAKFAST SERVED AT DAWN" WINTERLAND DEC. 31-1978 It would be most helpful if you could perhaps direct me to the correct person/source who has knowledge of The Grateful Dead's memorabilia, including appraisals.
