Looking for the wisdom of this group:
I read in the Compendium (is that a dirty word in these
parts?) a review that seemed to consider the "Unfinished album" tape to be
legit. I remember people's opinion at the time the tape began to circulate
('97?) was that it was bogus -- a clever patchwork of live performances. I
had a rather hissy and muddy copy that I discarded based on the prevailing view
of its lack of validity.
What's the current thinking on this? Is the Compendium
correct in suggesting it is real, albeit "salted," or is the consensus that it
is in fact a fake?
