Its amazing how these two brothers got into the movie business starting with small independant films and are now making the blockbusters.

BTW Gangs Of New York is a great movie!

Dave S.

"Formed in 1979 by brothers and co-chairmen Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Miramax produces and distributes Academy Award-nominated movies including The Hours and Frida. Although the company originally distributed and produced lower budget, quirky art house films, Miramax now also develops bigger, more costly movies such as Chicago and Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York. Sister company Dimension Films reinvigorated the teen horror genre with the Scream and Scary Movie series and has expanded its scope with the Spy Kids series. Miramax produced three of the films nominated for 2002's Best Picture. Walt Disney Studio Entertainment bought the company in 1993."

As a side note, this venue,
supposedly, was owned by Harvey & Corky, local concert promoters back in
the day. Harvey actually owns Miramax now.
