The Grateful Dead did NOT play at Concert 10 aka the Mt. Pocono Festival that took place on July 8-9, 1972. Here is a list of the bands that did play:
  • THREE DOG NIGHT
  • EMERSON LAKE & PALMER
  • ROD STEWART & THE FACES
  • MOTHER NIGHT
  • CACTUS
  • EDGAR WINTER GROUP
  • J. GEILS BAND
  • HUMBLE PIE
  • CLAIRE HAMIL
  • GROUNDHOGS
  • RAMATAM
  • ANGUS & THE BULLS
This concert drew approximately 200,00 people and the line-up was similar to the Mar Y Sol Festival that took place in April. It was another attempt to recreate the Woodstock spirit that was fading fast. However, the crowd was well behaved and the music went on through the night.  There were no great shakes, however, and this festival faded away into near-oblivion.

The Grateful Dead did appear a year later (with the Allman Brothers Band and The Band) at the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Raceway on July 27-28 for a show that drew more than 600,000 people. This was the biggest rock festival of all time, and in my opinion greater than Woodstock. The Dead played amazing sets each night, and is readily available on CD or tape.
