I haven't read all of the posts on this, but thought that it might be good to add (if
someone has not already done so) that the Allman Brothers opened for the Dead at these
shows. Don't know how important this is, but about half a year ago tapes of the ABB
shows were "released" from someone's collection. What may be of interest is that
there is just one ABB performance from the nights.

So, I'm guessing that if the Dead performed both an early and late show...

This would have meant that they did an early show, then the ABB did their opening
performance, then the Dead did their late show?

Or the Dead did an early show, then Allman Brothers, then Dead late show? This seems
unlikely.

(concerning memory of shows, for some 20 years I had confused which of the two spring
1971 Allman Brothers shows had been the last one that I saw with Duane performing...)

I know a half dozen folks who attended this run and they
all vouch for early & late shows. The only attendee
who sez otherwise is Owsley. I trust the evidence
        over Owsley's memory. YMMV
