DVDFile.com just posted details on the DVD release of Festival Express: "The first in the studio's new distribution agreement with independent Think Films, New Line Home Entertainment will debut the acclaimed rock documentary Festival Express on November 2nd. Featuring acclaimed performances by such legends as The Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin, this two-disc set boasts 50 minutes of additional performances, 25 minutes of interviews, "The Making of the Festival Express Film" featurette, a still gallery and the theatrical trailer. Presented in anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Digital and DTS soundtracks, retail will list for $24.95."
P.S. Anyone notice all the Grateful Dead CD releases this week? Not only were Dick's Picks v. 19-24 released to regular retailers (previously mail-order only) but there are now Rhino-branded HDCD releases of Infrared Roses One From The Vault Two From The Vault Without A Net Dozin' At The Knick Nightfall of Diamonds Go To Nassau Fillmore East 2-11-69 Hundred Year Hall Steal Your Face Postcards of the Hanging Steppin' Out with the Grateful Dead Ladies and Gentlemen...The Grateful Dead Dick's Picks Vol. 1 (not HDCD?) Some of those were already HDCD releases and I'm wondering if they are straight repackagings by Rhino or what the deal is. I didn't see any information on the usual CD release lists about these. Seem to have snuck in under the radar. No info at dead.net or deaddisc.com either.
