actually, the list posted to the mailing list for 3/24/71 reflects what was on Deadlists. Charlie, this post was yours.
So, Deadlists is either correct because the below is correct, or the new list is correct and Deadlists is wrong. which is it? ive added the timings listed below to the current list and move the songs to the correct set, but songs were in same order. 3/24/71 Winterland Charlie Miller Wed, 11 Aug 2004 08:27:36 -0700 After listening to this show, I found that the setlist on Deadlists for 3/24/71 is wrong. Judging by stage banter, comments to the audience, and lack of breaks on the master reels, this is what I came up with as the correct setlist. FYI, there are no reel break between the reel flip on The Other One and King Bee. Also, there are no reel breaks in set 2, other than the cut at the end of NFA cuts maybe a couple of seconds from the song. I wrote to David Lemieux asking him if he would supply us with the correct setlist for this show. He never responded. Since this is the JB Goode that was used fro Skull 'n' Roses, I think it would be safe to assume that there are 16 track reels of this show in the vault. Set 1: Greatest Story Ever Told -> (2:56) Johnny B. Goode (5:07) Next Time You See Me (4:18) Loser (8:21) Truckin -> (8:19) Drums -> (3:12) The Other//One (17:06) Bertha (6:20) Sugar Magnolia (6:57) I'm A King Bee 10:23) //Beat It On Down The Line (2:47) Set 2: Casey Jones (5:21) Hard To Handle (10:28) Playing In The Band (4:51) Not Fade Away -> (5:29) Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad -> (5:42) Not Fade Away// (2:39) Encore: //Uncle John's Band (6:38) -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Charlie Miller Sent: Saturday, April 03, 2010 9:43 PM To: Kevin Hurley; [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: Re: 3/24/71 The setlist on the sbd source that I circulated is 100% accurate. Deadlists and Deadbasr are wrong. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kevin Hurley To: [email protected] ; [email protected] Sent: Saturday, April 03, 2010 12:59 AM Subject: 3/24/71 Hi John: I went to listen to 3/24/71 on the Internet Archive site, and noticed that the set list is scrambled in many places... including on the DeadLists project. The correct set list should read: Bertha, Sugar Magnolia, I'm A King Bee, Beat It On Down The Line, Casey Jones, Hard To Handle, Greatest Story Ever Told-> Johnny B. Goode, Next Time You See Me-> Loser, Truckin'-> Drums-> The Other One, Playin' In The Band, Not Fade Away-> Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad-> Not Fade Away Uncle John's Band, I was at his show... In fact, it was my very first Dead show. It happened on a Wednesday night. We purchased our tickets at the door the night of the show for $3.50 and Winterland never sold out that evening. And it's true that the Johnny B. Goode from the Skulll and Roses album was recorded on this night as well. All the best, Kevin Hurley
