All, I recently decided I wanted to build an open source ruby gem (library) for querying GD setlist and song info from public domain resources. My plan was to use the ancient data on ftp://gdead.berkeley.edu. Then I stumbled onto deadlists.com. I'm not entirely sure how to proceed. Obviously the data on deadlists.com is much more up to date, but I'm unclear on any licensing restrictions. There are bits of info on the mailing list that imply the data is public domain, but there are copyrights on the website. I don't want to step on anybodies toes or do anything shady.
Is what I'm doing valuable to the community at large? Is it valuable to the deadlists project? Just curious if I should continue or abandon :) Thanks All, -jeff
