Excellent. Not having an OS X system I just checked it in. Can you verify that 
the version in svn works now?

I don't actually know much about linking myself and find myself poking around 
the net quite frequently in these matters. If you want a lot of material take 
a look at this series of one of the people who are the most active in the 
development of linkers on linux:
