Hello,
I am trying to teach myself something about the mechanism deal.ii uses to compute his interpolation polynomials for the fem. My reasons are two-fold: (i) I would like to understand what I am doing :-) ; and (ii) I would like to implement hermite polynomials in the near future. I have had a look at the base and fe classes (directed by the FAQ and using the documentation), but I have got lost as to where exactly the coefficients of the polynomials are computed. (There must be a page in the documentation I have missed). My best guess is to start from here http://dealii.org/developer/doxygen/deal.II/classFE__Q.html http://dealii.org/developer/doxygen/deal.II/group__fe.html and implement "FE_Hermite <dim>" Am I on the right track here? A slightly unrelated question for the fe masters: I am right in thinking the Jacobian times weight matrix $JxW$ is unitary? $JxW.(JxW)^T=1$; he's a coordinate transformation, right? Thanks for your time, I look forward to some hints. Best, Toby -- Toby D.
