Hi. I am pretty sure that having a Facebook page for deal.II is a bad idea. Facebook requires authorization -- it is not open, but a private part of the Internet. It is possible and even inevitable that deal.II's Facebook page will contain discussions important enough. These discussions will not be searchable nor accessible in an open way.
Thanks, regards, Dima. P.S. The proposal for not to have a deal.II page in Facebook follows very clear speaches that touch the subject by E.Moglen and R.Stallman. These of Moglen can be found in WikiSource (http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Author:Eben_Moglen, just read/hear the currently latest ;), these of Stallman - on http://www.gnu.org.
