I realize just now that my previous email sounded a bit upset... I didn't mean
to sound rude, I'm sorry. :)

The reason why I think it's worth it, it's because compiling
Trilinos+Petsc+Deal.II+maybeGCC is a very lengthy process. Knowing in advance
that there might be an issue with certain options could save other people
between one hour and several days (not everybody might be as lucky as you were
to find what the problem was "by chance" in a few tries...)...

Just to name an example, some time ago there was only one configuration known
to function properly for Trilinos+Deal.II+Petsc under Mac OSX with gfortran,
and it required the installation of gcc from the "HPC on Mac" site. Well, it
turned out that there were two slightly different versions (4.5.x and 4.4.x) on
the official site and on sourceforge and only one of the two was working. This
is a minor detail. But it wasted 2 days of a good friend's time.

If this can be avoided, then I think it is worth it, and it is one of the main
reasons to have a wiki.

I reread my previous email. It didn't sound rude. It WAS rude. I'm sorry. :S
