Dear all,

I'm trying to solve eigenvalue problems in deal.II. This works fine as long as I use globally refined meshes. For solving the eigenvalue problem I implemented an interface to ARPACK. The results for the eigenvalues are correct. Then I followed step-6 to deal with hanging nodes. But this seems to destroy the stiffness matrix or the eigenvectors. Which means the eigenvalues no longer converge to the right value. And the Rayleigh quotient is really bad. Do you have any ideas why that happens? Any suggestions?

@Wolfgang and/or Toby: Did you run step 36 on adaptively refined meshes and what did you observe?

Thanks,
Bärbel
