after the success of the deal.II workshop in 2010 we decided to hold a similar
workshop about deal.II later this year. We hope you will be able to join us!

The workshop, including a code jam, will be about
Discovering new horizons with deal.II
and it will take place in August 6-10, 2012 at Heidelberg University, Germany.
The intent of this workshop is to discuss applications and tools using deal.II,
as well as future directions of the library itself.
We invite talks and plan discussions by users and existing developers in the
following areas:
- use cases and applications of the library
- what users think would be useful directions for the library to go into,
things that are missing, and possibly getting people together who can
help implement those parts
- newer parts of the library (e.g. hp, multithreading,
optimization, etc) and how these could help in your programs.

- whether you would like to present a talk
Deadline: June 30, 2012.
Submission of title and abstract of a talk for the conference can be done by
sending an e-mail [email protected] to Bärbel Janssen. Deadline for
