I have finally managed to (maybe) update all of the libraries involved
without tons of errors. They seem to have compiled OK. But when I try
to compile my code, I get the following error:

I am not using p4est. I do not want to use p4est. Why is it complaining?
Ah, interesting. I guess we're not using MPI without p4est often enough.
Can you try updating to 25303?
