Hi Deepak, There are a few references, but they are all problem specific (simple Laplace equation, or the eigenpairs of the Laplace operator, etc). I can't really give a single one to cite. Instead, i would suggest you to do a quick literature review on hp-FEM in your application area and most likely you will come across this jump part in error estimator.
