Dear all,

It is my pleasure to announce the inception of a Physics module
<https://www.dealii.org/developer/doxygen/deal.II/group__physics.html> in
the deal.II project.
This module, and its associated namespaces, is dedicated providing some
core functionality for computations commonly required in continuum physics.
We hope that you will find this a useful addition to the library, and we
are looking forward to extending its capabilities and scope with your help!

Examples of its use can be found in the latest version of the step-44
tutorial <https://www.dealii.org/developer/doxygen/deal.II/step_44.html>,
as well as the newest addition to the code gallery.
This new contribution presents a parallel implementation of quasi-static,
quasi-incompressible, finite strain visco-elasticity
<https://www.dealii.org/developer/doxygen/deal.II/code_gallery_Quasi_static_Finite_strain_Quasi_incompressible_ViscoElasticity.html>
.
Like step-44, it also demonstrates the use of LinearOperators but now in
the context of solving a parallel sparse linear system.

Best regards,

Jean-Paul,
on behalf of the other deal.II developers
