Dear Bruno, Thank you very much for your answer and the links. It is unfortunate that PETScWrappers::PreconditionAMS is not implemented within deal.ii .
I am not so fluent with C++, so I will follow an advice from Ce Qin, and probably will use PETSc directly, instead of implementing the PETScWrappers for AMS. Will let you know when I get this sorted.
