The "cheap and dirty" way to get what you want is to modify the
declaration of the class so that the derivation of SparseILU from
SparseMatrix is 'public', not 'private' or 'protected'. This way, you
can access all of the usual member functions of the sparse matrix. We
don't want to do that for the actual sources we distribute for the
reasons stated previously, but there is nothing inherently wrong with
doing this yourself in your local copy.
