Stockholm School of Economics in Riga

Dear debaters from the Baltic Sea area! Stockholm School of Economics in
Riga Debate Club has the honor and pleasure to invite you to the 5th
Annual International Universities Debating Tournament @ SSER. For the
last four consecutive years we have been offering high level debating,
adjudicating and entertainment for up to 32 teams from leading
universities from the Baltic States and beyond.
Details
* Timeline: Saturday - Sunday, December 13 - 14, 2003
* Venue: Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, Strelnieku 4a,
Riga, Latvia
* Style: American Parliamentary (4 preliminary rounds, � finals, �
finals and the Grand Final)
* Participation fee: 10 EUR per team (includes meals,
accommodation and party)
* Prizes: Winners receive the traditional Traveling Cup; awards to
finalists and best speakers
* Deadline for applications: December 9 (register with
[EMAIL PROTECTED])
* Team cap: 32 teams
* Adjudicators: Each team is requested to bring along one
adjudicator. This condition is necessary, given the high number of
judges needed in a quality American Parli tournament. All adjudicators
will be granted accommodation and meals free of charge (NB! Please
inform the organizers beforehand should you be unable to gather a
sufficient number of judges. Also inform about the necessity to prepare
a vegetarian menu options).
On Saturday, the opening ceremony will take place at 12.45, so as to
allow fellow debaters from the Baltic countries to arrive beforehand on
the same day. We would also love to have debaters coming from farther
away, for whom we can arrange accommodation for the Friday night,
provided we are informed in advance.
