Hello all, this Tuesday we will be running another beginners debate, after the great success of last week with some really good speakers. So if you are new to debating this is another great chance to come along - you wont have to speak at all, but if you want to then we'll help you along as much as we can, and then you can debate with other novice speakers.

We will be debating the topic "This House Would Prosecute Women who Smoke Whilst Pregnant". Is the harm done to the unborn child equal to child abuse? Or are there some aspects of a woman's life that the state has no right to control? Are we doing too much to protect children, or not enough?

Come and join us at 18.30 (we've put the time back a bit as some people had lectures which clashed) in the Aurora room, this Tuesday to take part. See below for notes on finding the room, or give me an email if you have any such questions.

***To find the correct building walk past the Italian restaurant and the entrance from to the new student building (where you get the uni cards) until you reach a shop called 'Pentik', then between this and a health food store there is an entrance which leads to a lift (we will put a sign here). Use the stairs behind the lift to go to the third floor and then go left to find Aurora***
