--- Registration for Day Trips ---As mentioned in a previous mail sent to attendees, registration for the Day Trip excursion is open now. Interested attendees should act quickly, as the deadline to register for day trips is noon on Wednesday 15 July (UTC - 3:00).
--- Front Desk ---When you arrive at DebConf, come to the Front Desk (on the ground floor of FICH) to check in. The Front Desk is also where you acquire swag (eventually), meal tickets, and to buy exciting Debian merchandise!
Front Desk will typically be open from 9:00 to 19:00 with a break for Lunch during 13:00 to 14:00, and observing the Afternoon Break during DebConf.
The front desk phone number is +54-9-342-569-0547. Contacting by message is strongly preferred over phone calls. Messages can be sent via SMS, or Signal (@debconf.26).
--- ATMs in Argentina ---Contrary to usual travel practice, in Argentina it's not typically possible to use an ATM to withdraw cash on arrival. While generally safe, ATMs in Argentina often have a very low per-transaction limit (<20 EUR) and very high charges. Instead, the best option is to change cash (USD preferred, Euros also work, but cards are not accepted) at the airport or a cueva. Cards are generally accepted at shops and restaurants, though it is handy to have a small amount of cash for tips, taxis, and similar transactions.
--- No Smoking within the Campus ---Smoking (cigarettes as well as vapes) is strictly prohibited within the venue by law. This includes all parts of the university, i.e. Hotel UNL Accommodation, the cafetaria, the talk rooms, as well as outdoor ventilated areas within the campus grounds.
Smoking is only permitted outdoors in the recreational area which hosts the social room. This social room is also OK to bring and drink alcohol.
