Ok, so the daytrip is getting closer! We are going [1] to Xochicalco [2, 3] and Cuernavaca [4]. Xochicalco is a 2200 year old city, with traces of many different cultures that inhabited Mexico along all that time. It is probably our most important archeological site, and well worth a visit.
Some useful tips in order for you to enjoy it, and to get you back alive and well: - Use sunblock! The archeological site excursion lasts between 2 and 3 hours - Plenty of time not only to get a tan, but a huge sunburn. - Get a hat. Really. A baseball hat, a mariachi sombrero, or anything in between. It will help tremendously to keep water inside your body. It will also prevent your face (and your head, for those of us with less than enough hair) from getting a sunburn. - Take water along. How much? Up to you. I advise 3-5 liters. You might want to take along a small backpack to carry it. - We will quite probably have a late lunch, at around 16:00 - Have a late breakfast as well, or take something to eat when you get half-hungry. - The bus trip is long, between 90 minutes and 2 hours. If you went too late to sleep the night before, don't worry and come along - you will have opportunity to sleep on the way :) We will have guides on board explaining stuff regarding the places we go through, so the people who does not fall asleep has also an interesting ride ;-) ... Further information will follow.
