Ateneo is huge and pretty. Only new books. There is a multi-volume edition of Borges "Complete Works" at Ateneo and other stores. If you go to the Uruguay Subte (subway) stop on the Red (B?) line around Corrientes and Uruguay there are like 20+ used & new bookstores in a row there, on both sides of the road. You should be able to find lots of Borges there! Surprisingly, finding Borges in English here isn't as easy as it "should" be... The Borges Cultural Center is in the Galeria Pacfico shopping mall off of the huge pedestrian mall Avenida Florida (between Cordoba Avenue and Corrientes). Last time I went there there was an exhibition about NYC/911 sponsored by the US embassy. Ug. It doesn't have much to do with Borges.... It's worth missing.
