C'est une excellente idée... > So I thought I'd ask for the following things: > > * Does anyone have a place I can crash for a few days in Paris? I usually advertise my own place as "Bubulle Hotel" always opened for visiting Debianites, with an inconvenience : it lies in the Paris far suburbs, with a 40 minutes train ride to reach the city center. Still, I would certainly offer you to have a stay....except that I will leave our house the day after I come back from Debconf (I come back on Sunday July 31st and will just spend one night in our house in Paris until Monday Aug. 1st). I haven't yet planned with my wife what we'll be doing exactly so, well, certainly the 31st-1st night would be OK for us/me to host you. It's way less sure for other days. > > * Does anyone have particular suggestions for how to get to Paris > from Banja Luka? (Actually, that's probably a plane flight, and I > will shop at kayak.com. But maybe there's some awesome magic trick > that's way cheaper (?).) Zagreb->Paris via Easyjet is what a few of us will be doing. My own Zagreb->flight leaves Zagreb at 20:55 on July 31st and lands in Paris Zagreb->Charles de Gaulle at 23:00 I chose this one as the other EasyJet flight leaves at about noon, which might be tricky to reach if leaving Banja Luka in early morning. Air France also has a Zagreb->CDG daily flight. Now, so close to Debconf, it is even likely that AirFrance is cheaper than Easyjet (those lowcost airlines have high prices when booking late) > > * Does anyone have particular suggestions for ways to get to Berlin > from Paris? Many options: - flying is the fastest and there are many options: regular airlines such as Lufthansa and Air France, as well as some low cost airlines (I'd recommend checking what EasyJet, Air Berlin and Germanwings have) - there is a (not sure if faily) night train from Paris to Berlin - a combination of trains with probably a first high speed train from paris to Frankfurt or Cologne, then another one to Berlin. Probably a full day train ride, and more expensive than low cost airlines, unfortunately. > > One day, I will have time to visit the south of France, but it seems > that will have to be a future trip. And, except really private stuff, I think the most of such discussions are richer when done in a mailing list. In short, you're welcome, at least from my POV. _______________________________________________ Debconf-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-discuss
