One of my best friends is a professor in Japan and I'm going to Japan to visit him usually twice a year. I think, I mentioned that I had no problems so far withdrawing money in Japan using both my Norwegian and my German VISA card, usually at 7-11. Even in smaller towns like Maebashi or Neyagawa.
