Steve,
Probably you already have this in hand, but for debconf, you may
well need to write a letter of invitation to people in order for them to
get a visa. I've attached details that I was sent for a conference in
the US.

<title>Visa Letter</title>

<body>
<p>
Because of increased scrutiny of visa applicants, many potential attendees of
scientific meetings in the United States have experienced unusual delays in
obtaining travel visas. Therefore, if you're planning to attend the 2006 MRS
Fall Meeting, the Society urges you to begin the application process now. If
you need a letter of invitation from MRS and have not yet requested it, please
advise Paula Mahar (<a href="mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]">[EMAIL PROTECTED]</a>)
and she will forward it as soon as possible.
</p><p>
In order to compose and send your letter, she will need your document number,
email address, and your complete mailing address. Requests which do not
include complete address information cannot be processed.
</p><p>
Please send your request for a letter as soon as possible. Requests received
after October 1, 2006 may not be handled within the time needed for the visa
application process.
</p><p>
An email has been sent to all presenting and contact authors, notifying them of
the status of their abstract. Please remind your co-authors to request an
invitation letter if they have not already done so. If your abstract has been
approved, remember to confirm your attendance by returning the reply form
that's included with the abstract status notice on the MRS Web site at:
</p><p>

We look forward to your participation in the 2006 Fall Meeting.
