While it will be obvious to anyone who's been following for a while that I don't always agree with Joerg (Ganneff), I don't actually think that in this instance he/others have done anything wrong. Those who finally voted in the sponsorship-allocation meeting were: Anthony Towns, Felipe Augusto van de Wiel, Gunnar Wolf, Joerg Jaspert, Junichi Uekawa, Marcela Tiznado, Margarita Manterola, Martin Würtele, Moray Allan, Neil McGovern, Steve McIntyre. Meeting time/arrangements: The meeting was at 22 UTC on Saturday 17 February, as had been finally agreed on Monday 12th after a discussion starting on 1 February; the time/day was chosen to allow all those involved, including aj, to make the meeting time (it was late at night for some, but they could catch up sleep on Sunday). I personally abandoned my previous plans for the weekend so that I would be able to make the meeting. Meeting purpose: The purpose of the (first) meeting was to vote on who deserved sponsorship, supposing that we had enough to give money to everyone who needed it. (A second meeting, possibly with fewer people, will be held to make a final prioritised list out of the votes from the first meeting.) People attending: As mentioned in a little discussion on the team list before, the intention was to get votes from a balanced mix of Debian people. As also mentioned, this was originally supposed to include Holger and Amaya. The day before the meeting, Holger apologised that he and Amaya might not be able to make the meeting time they had previously agreed on, as they would be in France without a network connection. Amaya added they would try to find a network connection to use. Due to the uncertainly, Ganneff asked Felipe and Marcela to be ready to vote in their place, so that the number/range of opinions at the meeting would not fall if they missed it. At 20 UTC Holger called Ganneff to say he and Amaya wouldn't make it, and the meeting later went ahead at the scheduled time, with Felipe and Marcela completing the panel of voters. Writing a proper response, explaining properly the full discussion from before/during the meeting by email and on IRC, would take a long time, which I don't have (among other things I ought to be attempting to get less behind on PhD work), but I wanted to say something on the list now before the usual Debian conspiracy theories could develop in response to silence from those who know the facts. -- Moray _______________________________________________ Debconf-team mailing list [email protected] http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
