I don't know the linux.conf.au system, and won't go right away to check it (although I will in its due time). But I can assure you, coming up with a conference management system for something the size and complexity of DebConf is... not a task for the faint-hearted. I was _very_ proud of mine (Comas, used at DC5 and DC6) until I realized how unfit it was for an über-complex conference, with so many combined workflows and amounts of information. The switch to Pentabarf allowed us to really take advantage of the system for much more ellaborate tasks than what we could have achieved otherwise. I suppose linux.conf.au's system is mostly geared (as most other are) towards the academic program, scheduling, papers review, etc. The amount of information regarding a person (and the way that information is shared to other attendees) is... just out of most ConfMSs' sight. -- Gunnar Wolf - [EMAIL PROTECTED] - (+52-55)5623-0154 / 1451-2244 PGP key 1024D/8BB527AF 2001-10-23 Fingerprint: 0C79 D2D1 2C4E 9CE4 5973 F800 D80E F35A 8BB5 27AF _______________________________________________ Debconf-team mailing list [email protected] http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
