I'd be delighted if lunch is at a more decent time, like 14:00 or even 15:00... Maybe because it implies "you are lazy"? That's what I'd usually read here in Mexico - Still, I found it interesting that i.e. for Argentinians "siesta" is the time you have for your own business after lunch (and during which you sometimes take a nap).
