For example: > -spain a maximum between 100-150 (usually less, but some parts are really bad > connected) > -close europe countries (to spain...) maximum 200-250 > -far europe countries (to spain again) max 400-450 > - etc, for people coming of another contients it might be a bit more hard...
...I would also not be able to assure you if it was her, me or who :-) Anyway - There are too many factors to weigh in for this. Another idea would be to set up different queues, and allocate people based on them. We have said over and over that one of the reasons to hold the conference each year on another continent (which translates to Europe and America so far) is to give closer people a better chance to attend - given the benefit of less time travelling and less costly transportation. So, possibly we could come up with figures such as, "we will sponsor 50 Europeans, 25 North Americans, 15 South Americans, 15 Australian and Asians" (PLEASE don't jump because of the numbers - just explaining the idea). Next year, the first two figures would be swapped. Of course, that'd be somewhat unfair to Eastern Debian people, but it'd also be an incentive to come up with a DebConf Asia bid ;-) Greetings, -- Gunnar Wolf - [email protected] - (+52-55)5623-0154 / 1451-2244 PGP key 1024D/8BB527AF 2001-10-23 Fingerprint: 0C79 D2D1 2C4E 9CE4 5973 F800 D80E F35A 8BB5 27AF _______________________________________________ Debconf-team mailing list [email protected] http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
