Richard and I had a call with AG from Columbia regarding logistics of weekday food handling.
It basically boils down to one option, which AG has tentatively agreed to, and will be confirming with me on a concall 11AM EST on Monday. We are looking at committing and paying for some number (we had said 120) lunch and dinner meals for every day of the conference two weeks in advance of the conference. We must provide a volunteer or two to work the door of the cafeteria, who will work closely with their door staff, and be present for the entire duration of each sponsored meal to verify that folks are "on the list" (and check them off against our quota). In the unlikely event we don't consume 120 meals, we will still get charged for them. In the likely event we go over, we will have to reconcile at the end of each meal, via credit card or cash. One thing outstanding, which we need to decide very soon, if we plan to use JJ during DebCamp, is whether or not our plan is to use JJ for sponsored meals during DebCamp. I need to let them know one way or another, and work out a separate plan for DebCamp if we are using them. (I do believe JJ still thinks we are using them for DebCamp, but I could be mistaken).
