Brian/-team, [-team: please respond to this by 1200 UTC, as brian/we will call to arrange this tomorrow morning]
Here is where we can get the real food numbers for debcamp and debconf: http://rkd.zgib.net/http/debconf/only-reconfirmed/food-by-date.txt Note that there are different categories for food here, everyone, sponsored, pay-by-meal, and corp/prof. The meals which we are "on the hook" for each day are sponsored+corp/prof: DebCamp W/Th/F: 65 people/meal (±5) DebConf M/T/Th/F: 185 people/meal (±5) Debconf-team: what is a reasonable number of minimum meals to order each for each of these time periods, considering that some will choose to go out instead of eat with us? Are the numbers _below_ to reserve and pay for in advance good, or should we go lower? This is the number we will pay for in advance, with a way to pay for extra people beyond this each day. DebCamp W/Th/F: Reserve for 50 people/meal DebConf M/T/Th/F: Reserve for 150 people/meal (-team: any unsponsored people can pay cash to eat in this same location. If we have the time and energy, we could set up some sort of ticket system to be able to take cash ourselves so that they can get around sales tax. Exact procedure up to jeremy/brian/the team)[0]. - Richard [0] Does payment have to go through us to be tax-exempt? If so, and we do a "pay us for your meals" thing, that seems to slighly defeat one of the purposes of having JJ remove the need of us handling non-sponsored meals ourselves. Do you all have opinions of if we should just let people pay for themselves, and not worry about that extra tax? -- | Richard Darst - rkd@ - boltzmann: up 356 days, 1:58 | http://rkd.zgib.net - pgp 0xBD356740 | "Ye shall know the truth and -- the truth shall make you free" _______________________________________________ Debconf-team mailing list [email protected] http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
