And don't forget the day trip. If it's only a ~4hr round trip, if there are things to see and do in San Juan del Sur, that might be an ideal day trip spot. Typically, not all participants go on the day trip, and we wouldn't be overwhelming hotels anyway because we return to the venue in the evening/at night. Leave ~8am, get there around ~10am, spend the late morning and afternoon, then leave for the venue again ~7pm (post dinner) to get back around ~9pm or such. Naturally, this is dependent on timetables that are actually available for the express transportation options. It's a thought, anyway.
