Hi I know I'm very late with this. But IMHO the sponsorship brochure got a bit too long. I tried to shorten it a bit and propose the following patch. I did not commit it as I think the removals should be reviewed by at least one additional person. We also don't have to apply all of them. But I also think if someone agrees to a chunk I removed you can just commit it.
Some rationale for the removals: - I removed some quotes. This was quite hard be cause all the quotes are really nice. But sometimes they are also a bit repetitive and don't show anything new. I tried to restrict the quotes to one (max 2) per section. I choose the one that I liked most, but YMMV. - Further down I moved some text around and tried to condens it somewhat. IMO we have too much and too verbose rationales for sponsoring. I guess that most of this is known and obvious to most of our sponsors. They already know that Debian is a volunteer effort and the know that they can gain reputation in the Linux and Free Software community by sponsoring events. - I also removed the sentence about the minimal amount of sponsoring because that should be obvious from the levels. And we don't want to encourage small amounts. Gaudenz P.S.: Unfortunately I'm unable to build the brochure. A list of Debian packages that need to be installed in the README file would be helpful. I get the following error: kpathsea: Running mktexpk --mfmode / --bdpi 600 --mag 2+293/600 --dpi 1493 DejaVuSerif-Bold-tlf-t1--base mktexpk: don't know how to create bitmap font for DejaVuSerif-Bold-tlf-t1--base. mktexpk: perhaps DejaVuSerif-Bold-tlf-t1--base is missing from the map file. kpathsea: Appending font creation commands to missfont.log.
