I've just visited Interlaken this morning. My initial impression is that: a) it is a viable alternative - it is not necessarily cheaper, but it would work just as well as Le Camp b) there may be more flexibility in the contract - no need to pay for empty beds or meals. We can book now, and then give final figures (bed counts, etc) in March perhaps. The price per bed would be fixed now, but the total contract price would be fixed when we give the final numbers. c) no single site will provide all services needed. Hostels and hotels can provide all accommodation, very scalable. There are also a range of meeting venues, including some military buildings which are sometimes used for expos and parties and are unlikely to be as expensive as the world-reknowned `Congress Centre'. I'm happy to spend more time researching and documenting this alternative - but if there is any outright objection to this, or if someone is about to sign another contract (which doesn't appear to be the case), then please let me know. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJQe/JwAAoJEOm1uwJp1aqDz5gQAJmpmkhmPgGMsPX0kI/fLvv5 jTWNPryRVZsVH1v9yJdRgvUuWEaZW+rXcqPMZrrZtmHQLWSZ2NZcezF+YHWb+izA GoNQMK8QPvAbqS4rBKP2mTXWyzF6BWL87aEQHPhBT/eqA2ABAi9wzUOGhFVHyTs1 8wR2Rcfv6QjW/D7ft4gNiVWzdgj0CJuuLUUvsveZbNz736qtZ2Cvsel1u7QZ19O7 dI5Kfe+/xDwmLm47WfRxeG1C6kcQfewbyx8Jb8mM2MYu81SY90o/jOxZhNcZ+Wvy kQSoL4zSldkMdurvd0v3hK0XZkfi72P6nmBmUsucc0CQe92rmaE2LJYGgWjQOO8j c2sNxKATyxLdiz2dFCgpXXazaFkcGcW/EN4SLKgFQnaNBJM5iXXtp13HY/bLnlQo 38tZbp8yDrbxb0whyzK1QvpsM+SRnjLpmCqRNeddVzfCy6YTR7NAzIvbaFzwn9ki o57yxWbuWCef1Ra0km34x381DCx43ISCEHpw7bXiXfqs9WzIqHwLxGFn0h+aZAvR X9TG1k8HhND7p6tSgHXabtrugXGCpJea+ku+zD+XK2qADveVTyEAtD7ocAMrKDLT 6VrtiLk2GhHnW51Q8t7DbBaNoGRd/cl0ukwKsJBtog63cA8a5sW3iRh2t+yLzoHv dQLleSbPaudo85RNV92W =OQ1e -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Debconf-team mailing list [email protected] http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
