Hi Although I am unable to come to Debconf this year, I would like to bring up one point wrt. radio mics; namely that you should also check the frequencies they operate on, and see if they are legal in the States. They may not be, in which case, I would suggest dryhiring some from a company over there, as the ones you currently have cannot be retuned so easily.
