Hi all, I found this interesting project a while ago called ManyEars:
http://manyears.sourceforge.net/ It is meant for robots but it appears to be able to provide audio streams for each audio source. It might be interesting to experiment with this to provide better audio for DebConf videos, which often miss comments from the audience due to limited number and movement of microphones. The audio source tracking part of ManyEars might also be interesting for automated video tracking of speakers. I guess the DPL would be happy to approve purchase of their hardware for experiments.
