So, during that meeting I agreed to look into cameras. I met up with a friend last friday who's a professional cameraman, and we came up with three candidates. Prices are from a local (web)shop in Belgium. They don't necessarily have to be the prices we'll end up paying, but I added them to the list for comparison. Two were suggested by Carl, one my friend came up with: - JVC GY-HM200E: tested by CCC VOC. Has a network link and builtin RTMP server, can be directly hooked up to Voctomix according to VOC. €2600, but due to the network link, we wouldn't need the blackmagic cards, so that's less money in the end. Bulky and heavy, though (so shipping costs will be higher): 1.55kg, 13.5x19x26.3cm - Sony PXW-X70: large sensor, therefore it has good low-light capabilities. Good zoom lens. €2600, 1.4kg, 12.1x10.4x27.4cm. This will likely produce the best picture out of the three, but would end up being the most expensive option. Whether that is an important consideration is up for discussion... - Canon XA35: small, cheap, lightweight. €2100, 0.77kg, 10.9x8.4x18.2cm. Technically it is not necessarily the best choice, but it is considerably cheaper than the other two, and (due to lower shipping costs) will remain so. My friend suggested contacting a local company to see if I can get one of each for a week or so to test them. I think that's a sensible suggestion, but would like to not have to do that by myself ;-) Thoughts? -- Help me, off-by-one kenobi. You're my only nought. _______________________________________________ Debconf-video mailing list [email protected] http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-video
