I can just confirm this bug on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS, Shotwell 0.32.6. xdg-email and nautilus-sendto are able to add an attachment to a thunderbird email. Shotwell, however creates the email without an attachment.
Does anyone know, if that is fixe din 24.10 or 25.04? I need that functionally to be working, so that my parents are able to use their known workflows ... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Debcrafters packages, which is subscribed to shotwell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2100760 Title: Sendto fails to attach files to emails (24.04) Status in shotwell package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hello, Context : I am on a fresh new install on a laptop. All packages up-to-date. - Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS - Shotwell 0.32.6 (0.32.6) - Thunderbird 128.7.1esr - nautilus-sendto 3.8.6 I try to select a picture in shotwell and use the sendto command from the menu (right-click on the picture) to send the picture per email. The resizing dialog shows as expected. As a result, Thunderbird opens a new email but does not attach the file. Instead the new email shows "Send files per Mail: P217XXXX_1.JPG" in the subject of the email. This happens with one or more selected pictures and with or without resizing. On the other hand, If I use nautilus-sendto from the command line with a picture file path, the whole process works correctly. (i am not sure if that is the command that is used by shotwell but I assume it is) Can anybody reproduce that ? Cheers, R.
