As a workaround I was able to open Signal in the terminal with 'signal- desktop-unofficial --enable- features=UseOzonePlatform,WaylandWindowDecorations --ozone- platform=wayland' and that fixed the issue.
I was also able to open Chromium with 'chromium --enable- features=UseOzonePlatform,WaylandWindowDecorations --ozone- platform=wayland'. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Debcrafters packages, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2121774 Title: ANGLE causes rendering issues on freedreno Status in mesa package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in mesa source package in Plucky: New Status in mesa source package in Questing: Fix Released Bug description: Quoting from an upstream PR at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/36540: > ANGLE is completely broken on certain vendors, see https://issues.angleproject.org/u/1/issues/431097618. > This started to show up in most distro builds of chrome/ium 138 (but depends, I think, on which ANGLE version is used?) and now starting to show up in various electron apps. > There are probably more electron apps to list, so let me know what I've missed, and I'll add 'em. I'm not sure if there is a better way (for gl) to catch every chromium based thing that uses ANGLE. We are hitting this on all Qualcomm Snapdragon hardware on Ubuntu, anything Chrome or Electron based seems to be affected. A workaround would be forcefully changing the GL_VENDOR for known broken applications as proposed in the PR linked above.
