Do you think the nVidia driver is raising an interrupt or some such in 6.11 that does not affect 6.8?
It started a few weeks ago following an apt upgrade . There seemed to be a lot of plasma desktop upgrade which why I assumed it was plasma. However, I'm happy to work in another DE to see if it happens there as well. Presumably the default Ubuntu DE would be preferred. This was not happening before a few weeks ago. What I first noticed was the microphone had stopped working. I filed another bug report for this, #2119367, but finally discovered some rogue config files had appeared in ~/.local/state/wireplumber which prevented the mic from working. When the ~/.local/state/wireplumber directory was removed and recreated the mic started working, but this problem became apparent. It doesn't do it all the time. There will be a burst of switching at random time, sometimes just one or two, other times there will be dozens. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Debcrafters packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2121583 Title: KDE / Plasma keeps changing speaker source Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: There are two audio output sources on my laptop, one is the internal speakers and the second is via the DisplayPort. At random intervals during the day KDE / Plasma will start switching rapidly between the two, it was particularly apparent today and went on for some minutes. Both sets of speakers seem to test ok, audio out of all 4 speakers. When viewed in the Audio section of System Settings the two audio outputs can be seen rapidly flicking between the two.
