Not subscribing ubuntu-release yet was on purpose, because I first wanted to verify that this upload would indeed help binutils, otherwise it wouldn't be needed.
I know an FFe wasn't strictly needed, but as mentioned, the upstream new release still has a pretty big code change, so I wanted a double-check.
