How about adding alias char-major-10-135 off to modules.conf for machines that don't have /dev/*rtc? Also, couldn't hwclock be finally hacked to simply give up and not require ctl-c if /dev/rtc is not available? Why does it hang, does it access /dev/ports or something? > the real problem is this: > at the first screen 'congradulations' ect, im presented with an 'Ok' button > at the bottom, when i hit that, it says: > Loading /etc/console/boottime.kmap.gz add "1" or "s" to you kernel args to boot into single mode. Find the line loading boottime.kmap in the initscripts and uncomment it, then see if normal boot gets further. Richard
