Err, no. initrd22.gz is meant for 2.2 kernels (hence the 22 in the name). Currently, macs are the only machines that still need 2.2 for some models, but that doesn't mean we actually need those in any remote sort of way. Since Alex is trying to run 2.6, initrd22.gz is of no use to him. Alex: I'm afraid that, at this point, many macs just don't run anything more recent than 2.2 yet.
