I have just had a quick look at the "fb" driver of xserver-xorg-core and I don't feel like writing 17 thousand lines driver for Atari. If there isn't something we can re-use (afb? or old xfree68 driver?) then I don't think Atari users will ever see GNOME/KDE running on their machines.
